Twinkle Babies 2-3yr
Our exclusive Twinkle Babies™ – ages 2-3: a thirty-minute introductory dance class that is unique and valuable in the dance industry. The secret to the class is that it is structured and fun! It contains ballet, tap, and creative movement. Young dancers learn the necessary steps while learning how to follow direction and imitate movement in a positive environment. Engaging music is used to get these little dancers inspired to dance. The use of props such as “dancing bears,” wands and tiaras, enables the young dancers to use their imagination, creativity and, most of all, have fun!
Twinkle Stars Dance™ – Ages 3-4, 4-5 & 5-6
An age specific 45 minute class containing ballet, tap and jazz/creative movement. The purpose of the class is to introduce young dancers to the three styles of dance and inspire movement and creativity within a positive environment. Dancers will also learn basic steps and terminology in all three styles. For example, all dancers will learn what a “plie” is and how to demonstrate one. The use of fun, age appropriate music engages the young dancers’ minds and bodies. The use of props such as hula hoops for the “freeze dance” makes the end of class the most fun!
Lyrical Jazz
This dynamic, upbeat class teaches the fundamentals of jazz technique. Dancers learn rhythm and coordination through age-appropriate choreography with no suggestive music or movements. This class is great for energetic kids who love to dance! Body isolations, stretching, turning, leaping and technical steps are taught in this class. (Ballet is recommended in addition)
Hip-Hop
Hip-Hop is an upbeat form of dance and high energy class. Stretching, isolations, rhythms, musicality, upper body strength and funky footwork will all be incorporated. Students will learn to memorize choreography by working on a combination each class and across the floor exercises.
Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT)
PBT
Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best. One of the important elements used in the PBT method is muscle memory which helps to improve students’ understanding of core stability, weight placement and alignment. Each exercise in the PBT program has been developed with care and guidance by Marie Walton-Mahon along with a team of physiotherapists.
Acro
*Dancers are required to take ballet in addition
Acrobatic Dance, or acro as it is commonly referred to by dancers and dance professionals, is the beautiful fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Often defined by unique choreography, acro dancers seamlessly blend musicality, emotional expression, line and extension with acrobatic movements in a dance context. More recently, acro gained popularity with the wide spread success of the contemporary circus productions of Cirque du Soleil. Acro is an especially challenging style for dancers to master as training in both dance and acrobatic elements is required. Acro technique includes balancing, limbering, tumbling and partnering, based in flexibility, contortion and strength.
Ballet 3, 4
*Dancers are required to take PBT in addition
This class will move more quickly and more advanced steps will be taught. Includes barre, center, and across the floor exercises. Students are taught rhythms, timing, and leg/foot coordination done to various types of music.
